Central Railway Notified 2 Vacancies Against Cultural Quota

Railway Recruitment Cell, Central Railway, Mumbai, invited applications for recruitment to 2 posts against Cultural quota in Pay Band-1 of Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1900 / Rs.2000. Interested candidates can apply till 04 February 2013.

1. Harmonium player with Key Board playing skills: 1 post
2. Drum Set player with Octo Pad playing skills: 1 post
Total No. of Vacancies: 2 (Two)

Processing Fee: Processing fee of Rs.40 has to be paid through Indian Postal Order (IPO) drawn in favour of Assistant Personnel Officer (RT) / Wadibunder, Mumbai.
[SC/ST, Persons With Disabilities (PWD), women, minority candidates (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists & Zorastrians [Parsis]), and candidates belonging to economically backward classes (with family income < Rs.50,000/- p.a.) need not pay this fee.]

Pay Scale: PB-I Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with GP Rs. 1900 / Rs.2000.
[Minimum of Pay scale plus Dearness Allowance + House Rent Allowance depending on the place of Posting + other allowances as admissible from time to time.]

Eligibility Criterion
Educational Qualification:
Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board

Professional Qualification:
a. Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Harmonium playing
b. Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Drum Set Playing

Age Limit(as on 01 January 2013)
Minimum: 18 years;
Maximum: 30 years
[Maximum Age limit relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates , by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and for Widows / Divorced or judicially separated Women the maximum age limit is 35 years for General candidates, 38 years for OBC candidates and 40 years for SC/ST candidates.]

Selection Procedure: The recruitment procedure consists of Written Test followed by Practical Demonstration. Those selected for appointment will have to pass requisite Medical Fitness Test conducted by the Railway Administration.
Candidates should bring originals of all the documents for verification, at the time of Practical Demonstration.
Candidates should bring their own playing kits for Practical Demonstration.
No TA / DA would be paid to any candidate.
Appointment of Selected candidates is subject to their clearing the prescribed Medical Test.

Written Test: The test will have Objective type questions on Simple English, Numerical Abilities and General Knowledge with emphasis on topics related to music, dance, drama, etc.
Assessment tally
Written Test: 50 marks
Practical Demonstration: 35 marks
Testimonials / Prizes: 15 marks
Total: 100 marks

How to Apply: Application, complete in all respect, along with all enclosures duly attached should be sent to “Assistant, Personnel Officer (Recruitment), Chief Personnel Officer’s Office, General Manager’s Building,  1st Floor, Chatrapati Shivaji terminus, Mumbai- 400001” by ordinary post or dropped into the Application Drop Box available at the office by the prescribed last Date.
On the envelope containing the application “Recruitment Against Cultural Quota 2012-13” should be super scribed.
Application sent by registered post / courier or speed post will not be acknowledged.
